I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD is your keeper;
the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The LORD will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The LORD will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.

Psalm 121 ESV

Last night, while you were sleeping, something amazing happened. Something for which we have been praying for. Last night, while you were sleeping, God was working. Before bed, many of you said prayers. You took before the Father the concerns of your heart. I’m willing to bet Emma Harshman was on that list. Last night, while you were sleeping, God answered your prayer. He has answered all of our prayers. Last night, just before 11:30 pm, Katie and Emma landed in Lexington and were reunited with Eric. Last night, just before midnight, Eric and Katie buckled Emma into a car seat to ride home. We have been praying Emma home. And now she is.

Are you not glad that we serve a God who does not slumber nor sleep? Are you not glad that God hears the prayers of His people and answers them?

Praise the LORD!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens!
Praise him for his mighty deeds;
praise him according to his excellent greatness!

Praise him with trumpet sound;
praise him with lute and harp!
Praise him with tambourine and dance;
praise him with strings and pipe!
Praise him with sounding cymbals;
praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD!
